If you've been linked to this, you probably made a language mistake and whoever sent this to you cared enough to point it out. The best thing to do is read the details and see where you went wrong.


"Because" means "caused by". So "the reason is because" means "the reason is caused by". But most likely the reason is not caused by something else; it is the cause.

A better usage is "the reason is that".
