Oppa Gangnam Style

What's This?

If you've been linked to this, you probably made a language mistake and whoever sent this to you cared enough to point it out. The best thing to do is read the details and see where you went wrong.

Many fans of this song by PSY do not speak Korean, but they might be able to hear the "N" at the end of 오빤 [o-ppan]. 오빠 [o-ppa] refers to a female's older brother, but can also refer to any older male associated with a female. In "Gangnam Style" PSY refers to himself as 오빠 to a girl.

The "N" is a contraction of the word 는 [neun], which is used to mark the topic (distinct from the subject) of a sentence. So 오빤강남스타일 [Oppan Gangnam Style] roughly means "Oppa got Gangnam Style".
