Misusing "BPM"

What's This?

If you've been linked to this, you probably made a language mistake and whoever sent this to you cared enough to point it out. The best thing to do is read the details and see where you went wrong.

"BPM" (or "bpm") stands for "beats per minute", and is a common measure of tempo in music.

It is incorrect to say "the BPM of this song is 84" just as it would be wrong to say "the feet of this building is 1250". The height of the building is 1250 feet, and the tempo of the song is 86 BPM.
